Can I use my phone as a spirit level?
Usually, yes: compatible phones can expose motion readings to the browser. It is useful for everyday alignment, subject to device and browser support.
How accurate is a phone spirit level?
Results depend on sensors, calibration, contact plane, and setup. Wait for Stable, compare readings, and use a physical instrument for professional or safety-critical work.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Many modern phones support needed sensors, but browser settings and permissions vary. PhoneLeveler checks what your browser makes available rather than guaranteeing every device.
Why does it ask for motion permission?
The browser may require consent before it lets the tool read device motion. The reading is used locally to show the level and is not uploaded by PhoneLeveler.
Should I remove my phone case?
Remove a bulky case if it prevents a flat repeatable position. Avoid a camera bump and use the same phone edge for every check.
Why should I calibrate?
Calibration can make a deliberate reference surface your zero when a reading seems off. It does not guarantee precision or correct an uneven contact surface.
What does Stable mean?
Stable means the reading has stopped changing much. It is a signal-steadiness cue, not an accuracy rating.
Does it work on desktop?
The guides work on any screen. A desktop commonly lacks the motion sensor for live leveling, so use your phone for measurement.
Is PhoneLeveler free and private?
It is free to use with no account. Core motion readings are processed on-device; local preferences or calibration can be stored locally.
